Prelude

Time of Silence
“In this quiet moment, Jesus speak to me. Fill my heart with Thy love
divine, Your power let me see.”

Call to Worship
L: O sing to the Lord a new song!
P: Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
L: Sing, and give praise to God’s name!
P: Tell the glad news of salvation from day to day!

Hymn 128 I Sing the Mighty Power of God

Silent Prayer of Confession

Sung Response & Assurance of Pardon
“Lord have mercy upon us. Christ have mercy upon us. Lord have mercy upon us.”

Glory to the Father
“Glory be to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.”

An Affirmation of Faith (unison)
This is the good news which we received, in which we stand and by which we are saved; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day; and that he appeared to Mary, then to the twelve, and to many faithful witnesses. We believe he is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He is the first and the last, the beginning and the end, he is our Lord and our God. Amen.

Sharing of Joys and Concerns

Prayers of the People

The Lord’s Prayer
"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead
*us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”

From the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund - September
·       Symptoms of ovarian cancer can be vague and not always gynecologic, such as:
·       A swollen or bloated abdomen or increased girth
·       Persistent pressure or pain in the abdomen or pelvis
·       Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
·       Urinary concerns, such as urgency or frequency
·       Change in bowel habits with constipation and/or diarrhea
·       Any woman may have these symptoms for reasons not related to ovarian cancer. But if these symptoms are new and unusual, and persist for more than two weeks, you should see a doctor and ask about ovarian cancer. Each year 200,000 women worldwide are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 125,000 women die from this disease.  The earlier the diagnosis, the better the prognosis.

Want to Give?

This church is excited to be the beneficiary of all kinds of gifts. People who can crochet, folks who can lead children, some who are remarkable people of prayer, and still others God has blessed with the ability to make financial gifts large and small.

Because when we all give, we as a church make a huge difference in remarkable ways. Almost all of us also are able to give financially. Some put money in the plate each week, others use checks. Some use the church envelopes, and some prefer to go online and give at Tithe.ly.

At Tithe.ly you can give by credit or debit card, weekly, monthly, or just once. You can set up reoccurring giving. You can cover the fees for the church if you like. And you can at any time download a receipt.

You can also set up an electronic check payment through Tithe.ly! It’s a way to give online and save the hassle of writing and mailing a check. The process is called an ACH (Automated Clearing House Network) so you can give from your checking account on the day of the month you choose.
Whatever you choose to do, we want you to understand how much we appreciate your support, Because of you, we are “Making a Difference, in Jesus Name”!

Rachel Pierson

Namibia Report

On Sunday, September 22, at 9:30am Rachel Pierson (pictured with Pastor Angry Haukambe) will be here to tell us about her most recent adventures in Namibia and about all the projects we have supported in her village.

The caterpillar, the wall map, the sports equipment, uniforms, and most recently, the Elephant proof garden, all projects that were needed, but infinitely harder in Africa where Home Depots are not in every town!

Rachel will soon be leaving Namibia and moving to Chicago to pursue her education and work (the Peace Corps is basically, a volunteer position) with family nearby, including Orrin’s sister Susan and her husband Greg.
